The Carlor's heating electric pre-heater : Universal, reliable, easy to install.

The assortment was simplified as much as possible : two models and three power ranges allow to cover all potential applications. The CarlorÕs heating is easy to mount on the vehicle and requires no maintenance. As it was developed for an intensive and prolonged use, it may last longer than your vehicle. In that case, no problem: it can be easily taken off and mounted on your new vehicle.

The model TOPSTART pre-heats the water circuit and the windscreen washer liquid circuit. Before start the engine is hot and at ideal starting temperature, the cab is directly hot and the windscreen washer liquid circuit is pre-heated. While the vehicle is functioning, the exchanger permanently rises the temperature of the windscreen washer liquid in order to obtain a better washing of the windscreen.

 

The device consists of a heat exchanger body in which is inserted an immersed electric element. It is connected in series to the water circuit of the vehicle original cab heater. The power of the immersed element depends on the engine characteristics, the ambient temperature and the time necessary to reach the desired temperature. The standard power range goes from 750 to 2500 watts. Powers of 3000 watts or more are available on special request. An adjustable thermostat limits the temperature to 50¡C and a safety thermostat with manual reloading protects the device in case of overheating (lack of coolant for example). A circulating pump eases the flow of the coolant and guarantees a uniform and gradual heating of the engine. It also prolongs the life of the heating element, compared to systems working by thermosiphon. Thus by inverting the role of the cooling liquid, an ideal heating of all engine parts is obtained.

A serpentine rolled round the exchanger body is used for the heating of the windscreen washer fluid. It is connected in series to the washer fluid circuit below the pump and the tank.

For industrial applications and generating sets in particular, the Topstart model is available in combination with the Grundfos pump UPS 25-50. This pump features a much higher flow rate (2500 liters / hour on average). Three speed levels are available.

The Topstart with Grundfos pump offers a wide range of powers (up to 9 Kw) and voltages to be chosen from. 6 and 9 Kw are either single or three-phased. As far as the Grundfos pump itself is concerned, it is available in 50 Hz (in compliance with CE regulations for Europe) or in 60 Hz (in compliance with CSA / UL certifications for North-America).
